Johnson County-based hardware store chain Westlake Ace has officially opened its relocated Olathe store.
The company closed its store at 120 N. Clairborne Road at the beginning of March, citing the upcoming overhaul project at the Interstate 35/Santa Fe Street interchange as a reason for closing.
At the end of March, Westlake Ace reopened in a new location inside a former Walgreens space on the northeast corner of 151st Street and Black Bob Road.
Westlake Ace now open at 15066 W. 151st St.
- The store moved into an 11,500-square-foot space just off 151st Street and Black Bob Road, near a McDonald’s and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
- Walgreens previously occupied that space before it closed in 2023.
- The newly reopened Westlake Ace Hardware is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Lenexa-based Westlake Ace sells tools, home goods
- The store’s inventory ranges from grills and gardening tools to coolers and painting supplies.
- The company also offers home goods like kitchen appliances, furniture and cleaning supplies.
- Westlake Ace Hardware also offers home repair and maintenance services like plumbing, painting and electrical fixes.
Another new JoCo Westlake Ace store is in the works
- The company plans to build another new store at the Monticello shopping center in Shawnee.
- That store is expected to open later this year or in early 2026, according to a release from Westlake Ace Hardware.
- Outside of Olathe, Westlake Ace Hardware also has Johnson County stores in Lenexa, Shawnee, Overland Park and Prairie Village.
