Discount retailer TJ Maxx opening soon in Gardner

The new store marks the third in Johnson County for the Massachusetts-based retailer.

A Massachusetts-based retailer is preparing to make its debut in a new Johnson County city.

TJ Maxx will officially debut in Gardner soon, opening its new store there on Nov. 9.

TJ Maxx is opening at 832 E Main St.

  • The store is opening in a space at the Moonlight Plaza shopping center, just off Main Street and Moonlight Road in Gardner.
  • There, it will operate near Walgreens, Dollar Tree and HTeaO.
  • Once it opens, TJ Maxx’s regular hours in Gardner will be 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.

TJ Maxx offers discounted apparel for women, men and children

  • TJ Maxx’s inventory includes apparel from a wide range of designers and brands.
  • Its stores offer items like dresses, coats, belts and hats.
  • “We’re thrilled to join the Gardner community,” said Nancy Carpenter, President of TJ Maxx, via a release. “We look forward to providing local shoppers with an ever-changing selection of high-quality merchandise at exceptional value so they can express their true ‘maxx’ selves.”

This marks the third TJ Maxx in Johnson County

  • The new store also marks the first in Gardner for the Massachusetts-based company.
  • TJ Maxx already has two Johnson County stores: one at the Orchard Corners shopping center in Lenexa, and another at the Bluhawk shopping center in southern Overland Park.
  • Outdoor retailer Sierra, under the same ownership at TJ Maxx, also has two stores at those two shopping centers.
