Global athletic apparel store eyeing Oak Park Mall

English company JD Sports is opening its first Johnson County store at the Oak Park Mall.

An international athletic clothing company appears to have set its sights on Johnson County.

United Kingdom-based JD Sports has a new store in the works, inside the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park.

JD Sports is coming to 11149 W. 95th St.

  • The company is opening a store inside the Oak Park Mall, which is just off 95th Street and Quivira Road in Overland Park.
  • This week, officials with CBL Properties (the Tennessee-based owners of the mall) said they were unable to release additional details about the plan, including whether the store would be on the mall’s upper or lower level.
  • The company’s website currently lists June 2026 as the store’s opening timeline.

JD Sports offers sports wear for women, men and kids

  • The company offers a range of athletic apparel items, such as sneakers, leggings, joggers and swimsuits.
  • The store also carries accessories like hats, sunglasses, backpacks and water bottles.
  • JD Sports carries a wide variety of brands, from Adidas and Birkenstock to The North Face and Under Armour.

This marks the first JD Sports store in Johnson County

  • The new Oak Park Mall store also serves as the first JD Sports store in the wider Kansas City metro area.
  • The England-based company is in the process of opening new stores in several other states across the country, some of which include California, Florida, Iowa and Minnesota.
  • JD Sports is also growing a number of new additions to the Oak Park Mall — some of which have recently included Kansas City, Missouri-based Taste of Brazil and Made in KC.
