A Minnesota-based coffee chain has officially unveiled its newest Johnson County store.
On Monday, Caribou Coffee opened its new store in Olathe — which is now the third location the company currently has in the county.
For the coffee shop’s grand opening weekend, $1 from every purchase on Saturday and Sunday will go toward the Olathe Public Schools Foundation.
Caribou Coffee opened at 18459 W. 158th Place
- The coffee shop opened in a newly built space just off 159th Street and Ridgeview Road in southern Olathe.
- There, it operates near Central Bank on the northwest corner of the intersection.
- Caribou Coffee’s regular hours in Olathe are 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The new shop is geared toward on-the-go coffee
- The new Olathe store is one of Caribou Coffee’s “cabin-style” stores, meaning it doesn’t offer interior seating.
- Customers can grab their drinks through the shop’s drive-thru or the pickup window, though there is also some outdoor seating.
- Caribou serves a wide variety of caffeinated drinks, from lattes and mochas to teas and energy drinks.
- The shop also serves all-day breakfast sandwiches, along with other eats like bagels, muffins and croissants.
Caribou Coffee has two other Johnson County locations
- In addition to the Olathe store, the chain has two other Johnson County locations: one in southern Overland Park, and another inside the Hy-Vee grocery store in Mission.
- Caribou previously had a store inside another Hy-Vee grocery store off 95th Street and Antioch Road in Overland Park, but that store closed earlier this year.
- That closure followed another Caribou Coffee closure in Merriam last year, which shut down to make way for the new Trader Joe’s grocery store coming to Shawnee Mission Parkway in Merriam.
