One thing to know today

Overland Park Police say three suspects linked to a shoplifting incident earlier this month that left a store employee with a broken arm have been identified.

The incident occurred July 12 at a retail location in the 12000 block of Metcalf Avenue, just south of 119th Street.

During the theft, one of the suspects pushed the store employee in the back as they fled, causing the employee to fall to the ground and fracture her arm, according to police.

Security camera images released by police showed the suspects entering the store and also arriving in a white Dodge four-door sedan with Missouri tags.

In a post to Facebook, Overland Park Police said the three suspects had been identified after “many phone calls and tips.”

It’s unclear if the suspects have been taken into custody or what charges they may face.
