A popular breakfast eatery now has two fewer Johnson County locations.
IHOP, known for its pancakes and other breakfast fare, recently closed locations in two Johnson County cities.

IHOP closed in Overland Park and Shawnee
- The Overland Park location operated at 9099 Metcalf Ave., and the Shawnee location operated at 15350 Shawnee Mission Parkway.
- Both locations were open for more than a decade.
- “We greatly appreciate our neighbors’ patronage over the years and have loved being a part of this neighborhood,” said IHOP franchise owner Abdul Hamideh via an emailed statement about the closure of both locations.
Two IHOPS close, another opens
- Though one Overland Park IHOP is now gone, another opened in the city earlier this year.
- The breakfast eatery opened a new location off 95th Street and Quivira Road, near the Oak Park Mall.
- Franchise owner Mike Issa also owns the neighboring franchise of bakery and cafe Paris Baguette, which also opened earlier this year.
IHOP still has five Johnson County locations left
- In addition to the new location near the Oak Park Mall, IHOP still has another location in Overland Park — this one further south at 6936 W. 119th St.
- Outside of Overland Park, the California-based chain also has locations in Olathe and Merriam.
- Across the state line, IHOP also has two locations in Kansas City, Missouri.
