Jackson County, Missouri, prosecutors have charged a Johnson County Community College police officer with two sex crimes stemming from a September 2024 incident.
In a news release, Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office Director of Communications Jazzlyn Johnson said Rodrigo Aldofo Sanchez-Flores, 27, has been charged with one count of first-degree rape and one count of first-degree sodomy.
According to the probable cause statement, Kansas City, Missouri Police responded to a reported disturbance at 5:45 a.m. on September 29, 2024, in Westport.
Officers spoke with the victim, who reported Sanchez-Flores had sexually assaulted her inside his pickup truck.
“Court records indicate that witness accounts and surveillance footage show the victim was too intoxicated to consent,” the release from the prosecutor’s office said. “She told officers she did not remember leaving the club with the defendant and later woke up in his vehicle.”
Court documents said that the victim ran from the truck after she woke up and was unable to find her phone. After knocking on several doors, she found someone to call 911 for her.
“A SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Exam) identified the presence of male DNA, and subsequent DNA analysis found very strong support that the defendant was a contributor of the recovered DNA,” the news release said.
The Post reached out to Johnson County Community College to request Sanchez-Flores’ employment status or a comment from the college but had not received a response at the time of publication.
Sanchez-Flores’ bond is set at $100,000 cash only.
If convicted on both charges, Sanchez-Flores would face a minimum of 10 years in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections.
