Andy’s Frozen Custard coming soon to Bluhawk shopping center

Overland Park’s Bluhawk will soon have a new stop for ice cream.

A new Andy’s Frozen Custard shop is coming soon to the shopping center at 7781 West 159th St

According to a Bluhawk spokesperson, initial construction has begun and the store is expected to open later this year.

The final development plan for the shop is under review, according to city documents. It will move into a space in Building 2F at the development.

The company is known for its frozen custard, with a wide-ranging menu of frozen treats from concretes and malts to splits and sundaes. Flavors range from classics like chocolate and vanilla to seasonal ones like pumpkin pie, apple pie and strawberry shortcake.

Andy’s Frozen Custard has 85 locations in 14 states across the country. The new Overland Park location will be the company’s 11th location in the Kansas City metro area and the third in Overland Park. The company opened a local franchise last fall at Overland Park’s Prairiefire. At the time, this made the ninth Kansas City area location for the Missouri-based company.

Regular hours for the incoming store have yet to be posted to the store’s page on the Andy’s website.
