The first Kansas Buffalo Wild Wings Go location, a carryout-focused offshoot of the popular sports bar chain, opens Wednesday in west Shawnee.
Plans for the new restaurant in Shawnee firmed up in May when Buffalo Wild Wings started updating the storefront near Monticello Road and Shawnee Mission Parkway.
BWW Go opening at 6638 Monticello Road
- The new restaurant sits next to Papa Murphy’s Pizza, near the Starbucks and a Country Club Bank branch.
- This particular storefront has previously housed a Smallcakes Cupcakery and Yogurtopia, a frozen yogurt shop.
- BWW Go in Shawnee will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Shawnee location will hand out free wings Wednesday
- The giveaway will start at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
- The first 50 people in line on opening day will get access to free wings for a year, according to a news release.
- That will be redeemable with a booklet that will be distributed to the winning patrons.
BWW Go started in 2020
- The first BWW Go opened in the Atlanta area, debuting a new concept that focused mostly on carryout, delivery and contactless pickup options during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- These locations tend to be smaller and have less seating available.
- Much of the same fare can be found at BWW Go stores as the standard sit-down Buffalo Wild Wings locations, including the more than 20 sauces, rubs and flavors for the chicken tenders and wings. It also serves chicken sandwiches and burgers.
