A much-anticipated mini-golf venue is beginning to take shape in Overland Park.
After the project gained city approvals, construction is well underway at Tap Ins at the Greenhouse — a new concept offering miniature golf, cocktails and more on the busy corner of 95th Street and Metcalf Avenue.
If all goes according to plan, owner Ryan Patton said, then Tap Ins will likely host its first rounds of mini golf this November or December.
Tap Ins is on its way to 95th and Metcalf
- The venue is on its way up at the southeast corner of 95th Street and Metcalf Avenue.
- There, it will operate near Lowe’s and Texas Roadhouse.
- Tap Ins will also join a growing number of new additions at the busy corner, most recently following coffee chain Dutch Bros and fast-casual eatery Panera.

Tap Ins will offer both indoor and outdoor activities
Tap Ins will be a year-round operation, with two golf courses on site — one indoors and one outdoors. The indoor course will operate inside a retractable, temperature-controlled greenhouse.
In addition to mini golf, the plans for Tap Ins also include a space for yard games and multiple rentable event spaces (one of which includes a private bar). There will also be more than 100 televisions (two of which will be 16 x 10-foot video walls) on site for customers to catch games on.
On the food and drink side, Tap Ins will also have multiple bars and a beer garden for customers to grab cocktails from before, after or between rounds of golf.
The restaurant on the north side of the Tap Ins property will offer “American-style” fare like burgers, sandwiches, salads and pizzas, as well as sweet treats at the ice cream bar on site.

Tap Ins will open in a few months
Pending construction, Patton said the goal is for Tap Ins to have its soft opening before Thanksgiving — with a full-blown opening a few weeks later.
“It will be friends and family (first), just to kind of control the fire hose a little bit,” he said. “Then we’ll hopefully be open fully to the public in the early parts of December.”
Hiring at Tap Ins has begun, and the project has already garnered interest from parties who want to book events for next year.
Since plans for Tap Ins were initially announced last year, Patton said the community has shown overwhelming support, with many nearby businesses already interested in partnerships.
“It’s been incredible,” he said. “We’ve had tons of inquiries from businesses around the area that want to partner with us, who want to host parties there. Everybody’s kind of chomping at the bit to get in the door.”
