After three years, a locally owned boutique is saying goodbye to Leawood.
Next month, women’s clothing boutique Lalli’s will close its doors at the Park Place shopping center.
Lalli’s Boutique is at 5210 W. 116th Place
- The boutique occupied a space on the east side of the Park Place shopping center, which is just off 115th Street and Nall Avenue.
- Lalli’s opened its doors there in October 2023.
- The boutique was also near The Bar Method and Geno’s Clothiers at the shopping center.
Lalli’s will close in September

Owner Susan Hatten opened Lalli’s (named after the nickname her grandchildren gave her) after moving back to Leawood from Chicago. It was her first business of her own.
“As I come to the end of my three-year lease, it felt like the natural time to stop and ask myself what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like,” she told customers via social media in August. “After a lot of soul-searching, I realized I’m ready for that next chapter.”
As of right now, the store’s closing is “tentatively” scheduled for Sept. 26, with a goodbye event planned for Sept. 16.
A closing sale is also underway, with everything in the store marked at 25% off for now.
“This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but I’m also incredibly grateful for every customer who has walked through our doors, supported this little dream, shared a laugh with us, found an outfit they loved, or simply stopped in to say hello,” Hatten told Lalli’s followers via social media. “You have made Lalli’s so much more than a boutique. You’ve made it a community.”
Park Place has seen other recent turnover
Lalli’s is joining a number of recent closures at the Leawood shopping center, most recently including seafood eatery Aqua Penny’s.
Just down the street from Lalli’s, a new Pilates studio is also coming soon to Park Place.
Breakfast eatery AR’s also recently opened at Park Place, marking its third Johnson County opening.
