A gelateria that got its start in Paris has set its sights on Johnson County — southern Overland Park, to be exact.
Gelato shop Amorino plans to open a new shop at the Bluhawk development, marking the company’s first shop in Johnson County.
Amorino is coming to Bluhawk
- The gelato shop will come as part of the Bluhawk development’s second phase of retail development.
- The site is just off 159th Street and U.S. Highway 69 in southern Overland Park.
- According to a release, Amorino is targeting a summer 2027 opening at Bluhawk.
Amorino serves “handcrafted” Italian gelato

- The shop’s gelato comes in a variety of flavors (such as salted butter caramel, dulce de leche and pistachio) — and when served atop a cone, it comes in the shape of a flower.
- In addition to gelato, Amorino also serves other sweet treats like waffles, crepes and macarons.
- Amorino also offers coffee drinks like cappuccinos, lattes and americanos.
This marks the first Amorino in Johnson County
- The new Overland Park shop also serves as the first in the wider Kansas City metro area for the company, which originally got its start in France.
- Outside of Kansas, Amorino has locations in other states like Texas, California and New York.
- Amorino also serves as the one of the latest in a growing number of new additions to Bluhawk, alongside local healthy eatery Billie’s Grocery and fast-casual eatery Chicken Salad Chick.
