A popular Mediterranean eatery is widening its Johnson County footprint, in more ways than one.
Wichita-based Meddys has a new location in the works in Olathe, as the company also nears an opening in Overland Park.
Meddys is coming to 17901 W. 119th St.
- The restaurant will move into a space just off 119th Street and Ridgeview Road in Olathe.
- There, it will operate near the Hy-Vee grocery store and Mokas Coffee & Eatery.
- The new Meddys is aiming to open in early 2027, likely January or February.
- Once it does open, the restaurant’s regular hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Meddys offers “authentic, healthy” Mediterranean dishes
- The restaurant serves dishes like shawarma wraps, falafel wraps, “stacked” hummus bowls, “bulked” baba ghanoush dip, and grilled citrus salmon plates.
- Meddys also serves some lighter fare like tabbouleh salad and mushroom soup.
- The restaurant also serves sweet treats like baklava and triple chocolate mousse.
Multiple new Meddys locations are coming to JoCo
Preceding Olathe’s opening, Meddys is gearing up to make a debut in another Johnson County city. Its new location off 115th Street and Nall Avenue, near the Aspiria corporate campus in Overland Park, will open in mid-November.
That’s not where the growth ends, either. Meddys is also eyeing a new location further south, at the Bluhawk development off U.S. Highway 69 and 159th Street in southern Overland Park.
Founder Alex Harb said that while Meddys got its start in Wichita, the Kansas City area has proved to be a great “second hometown” to the brand. The company’s first Johnson County location opened in Prairie Village in 2022, where he said it landed with a splash.
“It all started with the Prairie Village location, and the amount of love we got out of the Kansas City market was unbelievable,” he said. “We want to open as many locations as we can possibly open in Kansas City, because it has embraced us.”
