Healthy eatery Saladworks nears Overland Park opening

Next week, the new restaurant is joining a growing number of new additions to the Bluhawk shopping center.

A new restaurant offering healthy eats will soon make its Johnson County debut.

Fast-casual eatery Saladworks will open on Nov. 13 in southern Overland Park — its first in the county.

Saladworks is opening at 7745 W. 159th St.

  • The restaurant has moved into a space at the Bluhawk shopping center, just off 159th Street and U.S. Highway 69.
  • The space is near other restaurants like Of Course Kitchen & Company, JINYA Ramen Bar, and burger chain Five Guys.
  • The restaurant will open its doors at 11 a.m. on Nov. 13, with a complimentary salad for the first 50 guests in line.

Saladworks offers customizable healthy eats

  • Some of the salads on the restaurant’s menu include the “sophie’s” salad (with spring mix, grilled chicken, bleu cheese, dried cranberries, honey roasted pecans and diced apples) and the “roasted turkey club” salad (with romaine and iceberg lettuce, radiatore pasta, roasted turkey, smoky bacon and diced tomatoes).
  • In addition to the curated items, customers at Saladworks can also create their own salads and wraps with a base (either greens or grains) and toppings of their choice.
  • The menu at Saladworks also features other items like paninis, soups and cookies.

This marks Saladworks’ debut in Johnson County

  • The Overland Park restaurant also serves as the first in the wider Kansas City metro area for the Pennsylvania-based company.
  • In total, Saladworks has 100 locations across the United States.
  • The new restaurant also follows a number of new additions to the growing Overland Park shopping center, some of which have recently included bookseller Barnes & Noble and ice cream shop Betty Rae’s.
