Still undecided? Here’s where Johnson County candidates stand on the issues readers asked about

Affordability, property taxes and education dominated this election cycle. Readers also asked about license plate readers, school vaccines and the Chiefs stadium deal.

Early voting has started, and we’re in the home stretch ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

It’s a much-watched election, featuring races up and down the ballot at all levels of government impacting Johnson Countians — from a U.S. Senate seat to places on the county commission to deciding a new mayor for Prairie Village.

Ahead of the start of early voting last week, the Post published candidates’ responses to our five-item questionnaires that we created with the input of readers.

There were some common themes across races — affordability, property taxes, education. But there were also some questions that may not have come up as much on the campaign trail or in the ubiquitous flyers you’re finding in your mailbox.

That’s why we do this each election cycle. We aim to put the power in readers’ hands, give them the chance to ask the questions they care about, and not leave it up to the politicians, pundits and political consultants.

You may have missed candidates’ responses when we published them last week, and you might still be making up your mind for some races.

Below, you can peruse candidates’ responses to the issues that matter most to you; hop around to the races that you’re still undecided on or care most about.

You’re the voter: The choice is yours.
