2025 Johnson County election primers

Johnson County voters this November will be electing leaders in their local communities.
There are contested races for offices like mayor and city council in 14 different cities, as well as competitions for seats on five local school boards, the Johnson County Community College Board of Trustees and the board overseeing WaterOne.
These people will govern Johnson Countians at the most local level making decisions about how our tax dollars are used and setting priorities for the cities we live in and the schools our children attend.
Who is on my ballot?
Who you will be voting on this year depends on where in Johnson County you live. Some cities or wards within cities don’t feature contested races this election cycle, so you may not have choices up and down the ballot.
To see your sample ballot go to the Kansas Secretary of State’s VoterView page and enter your first and last name and date of birth. If you’re a registered voter, you will be able to view a sample ballot online.
You can also find a full list of all candidates countywide at the Johnson County Election Office website.
